Gold Medal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Awarded to VUJE for the Development of International Cooperation
Our company, VUJE, a.s., has been awarded the commemorative gold medal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Juraj Blanár, for its contribution to the development of international cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. The award was received by CEO Matej Korec.
The award was presented at the Export Forum 2025, the largest platform for economic diplomacy in Slovakia, for an outstanding contribution to the development of international cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, in which the company has been active for nearly 50 years.
The event brought together more than 300 representatives of Slovak companies and 60 economic diplomatsrepresenting Slovakia’s interests abroad.
In his speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Juraj Blanár highlighted the skill of Slovak professionals and the importance of companies succeeding internationally: “We have many skilled people and companies capable of making their mark. We should take appropriate pride in what we achieve and recognize our own successes — because if we do not notice them ourselves, how can we expect the world to notice us?”
Minister Blanár also emphasized that the purpose of such events is to support economic diplomacy and to honor individuals and companies achieving outstanding results abroad, thereby representing Slovakia as a country of high professional competence.
“Take this as a good example that we notice what you do,” he added.
The award was presented to Matej Korec, CEO and Member of the Board of Directors of VUJE, a.s., by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Juraj Blanár.
“I sincerely thank you for this important recognition — on behalf of our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Zoltán Harsányi, and all VUJE employees. This award is symbolic for us, as we are soon to celebrate 50 years of active presence in the nuclear energy sector. Receiving the commemorative gold medal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs is a great encouragement, support, and motivation to continue developing international cooperation,” said Matej Korec in his speech.
He also noted that nuclear energy is not only of strategic importance in Slovakia, but also has the potential to strengthen international cooperation and partnerships.
“Nuclear energy is crucial for our country and has strong potential to become an attractive export product for the Slovak economy. I would like to thank government representatives, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Rome, Karla Matiaško Wursterová, for their long-term support of our international activities.”
